Both the Bioshock games are £3.49 till 6pm Weds. I'm downloading the demo of the first game because I think that was the better of the two and if I like that I might buy them both.

Also Magicka Vietnam is available now for £3.49 a bit of a kick in the balls because you can buy a collection of all the Magicka stuff for £6.04 it's on a 50% off mid week madness sale. The music at the start of the video on the Steam page is a lot like Cannon Fodders which people have compaired this expansion to.

Ok Bioshock may not be the game for me, I just had the crap scared out of me by the demo. It's just so dark and there are shadows, and footsteps which aren't mine and voices saying crazy things. I found myself backing into corners out of fear that there was always something behind me, I didn't even feel that my back was safe against the wall. OMG there was a flickering light and a shadow of something that was only there for a second, there wasn't a big deal made about it, it wasn't in a cut scene I just happened to be looking in that direction, even looking in that direction you might have missed it.

Despite my utter fear I can see that this is a very good game, the game is a bit dated but still beautiful, the animations are good and it's very cinematic. It's not the most suttle horror game, you can be very sure something is going to jump out at you, you aren't just hearing things. The sounds are a bit confusing and garbled, that could be just me not being able to take it in because of pooping myself. The guns look a bit rubbish, their looks and effects the smoke is quite bad.

I would recommend the game, but not to myself. Just because I don't think my dicky ticker could take it. I still want the game, if only they could take the scary stuff out.

LoL I keep going back to it on the 360 but I cant play for long as I poop myself.

I think Bri's finished both though.

From the moment the bathysphere landed in the city I wanted to quit the demo, from that point on I knew that "No no no no no no this game isn't for you Fenon". I did manage to finish the demo. I can see what would happen if I get this game, I'll play for a few minutes, fear quit, pace around the room nervously, play again for a few minutes and repeat.

I'll be having a long debate with myself tomorrow before I go to work about getting this game or not.

The windows version was mostly negatively received iirc.

I don't remember being overly scared at any point during it though. Mind you I don't remember much of it all, other than really really liking it. It's a fantastic game. I've never played the sequel.

Those car and clothes DLC for Mafia are quite lame, I mean they look ok but they aren't employed in the game well, you just have them, they aren't in shops and you don't have to find them, if you haven't played the game before I would not get them. I wouldn't say get them anyway actually they aren't at all worth getting. But hey they should spice up my second playthrough (The quest for all the porn!).

Ah cool, thanks you answered the questions I was going to ask. None of the DLC ruins the single player game does it? I'm quite happy for it to be in the single player game I just don't want something thats given to you right from the off, and make it feel like you are cheating, if you know what I mean. I suspect that these aren't but I thought I'd ask.

The dlc is new areas with additional challenges and mobs, I think they are level restricted to a certain extent so all though you will be able to access the areas you'll get mullered.

Ok bought the game of the year edition of Borderlands. I think we'll see Civ games as the last day of the sale, they doing really have that many other games on Steam.

By the way Vis how are you finding Mafia 2?

Not done a lot, got a bit of a Vsync issue despite having it enabled in both soft wear and hardware and I’ve got terrible buffering on, wondering if a quicker hard drive would help.

As for the game the locations look exhalent with a lot of attention to detail especially the street scenes, but the poor character animation especially in cut scenes is very off putting by today’s standards and the games not that old.

Hmm thats odd I have no idea why it's doing that, try just googling chances are if you are having the problem someone else is as well.

I notice the animation thing (I'll just sit back and wait for a quote of me complaining about the animations), yeah they ain't perfect but it didn't bother me, I've played Sonic games and they have perhaps the worst animations ever. I'll play the DLC soon and I bet the animations will start driving me crazy, now that I'll be looking at them.

Yep Civ V is on offer now, 40% off the game (£17.99) and the DLC.

I already have Civ V from the last time it was on offer (Same price I think), it's a damn fine game, could use more variation between nations though, 2 units being different isn't enough for it not to feel like you are playing as the same nation each time.

There's a weekend deal for a collection of Splinter Cell games, I suppose it's all of them, they are 60% off and cost £19.58. I think I either rented or more likely played a demo of one Splinter Cell game so I know next to nothing about them. I liked the game I played, I think it must have been the second one, but after that they left the things that interested me behind. I don't know if they actually did but from what I saw in videos it looked like them did. Also it became like 24 and I was never interested in that and it seemed pathetic to me that they were changing their series to be like that. I could be completely wrong about that but these are the things that I think from what little I've seen.

Not played a splinter cell game in years. The first one was good, but not really played another since. Pandora Tomorrow was amazing for the multiplayer. Splinter Cell multi was (is?) flat out amazing when playing with the right people.

The thing about civ factions being the same, is that if you look at the world, it is all the same. Minor culutre differences aside. Anyway it is more than 2 units differences. Theres the unique buildings, ability and the trait combos. Against the ai you are never going to appreciate these differences as the ai sucks. Civ only stays hard because the higher diificulty levels make management so annoyingly hard. If you approach the higher levels of play you can understand how to make use of the differences. But thats the same for any game I guess.

Rockstar sale this weekend, Bully, Max Pain and Max Pain 2 are on sale today 75% off all cost next to nothing. I've never played any of them. Bully in more interesting to me than Max Pain but I doubt I'll buy any of them.

I don't know why they wouldn't include GTA 4 in the sale, but doesn't matter to me I have the game anyway. I suppose the offer is useful to me because while I do have a few of those games I can't play them any more. But na I don't really want them. Hmm maybe they are saving GTA 4 for the last day of the sale.

Yeah looks like I was right, it's GTA 4 today with it's DLC. If you don't have this, ok everyone on here must already have it, but still IF you don't have it, get it.

The only thing thats bad about it is that the city could have used a bit more content. There were only like 3 different clothes shops for example, they could have used at least 2 more. Thats not a reason not to get it, because the story and the physics are great (Red Dead improved on them a lot though).

I'm a bit bored of GTA's story and mission's they are always the same "go here to this guy he'll help you" "I'll help you but first you've got to help me" and then repeat that for everyone you meet. Red Dead was an improvement in their story telling, it was still a bit like that though. Here's hoping the next GTA game will be more interesting.

Enjoying this second time around, the first was on the 360 it was my first gta game so didn’t really understand the mission structure and got board trying to keep Roman & Michelle happy with endless bowling and visits to the bar drunkenEvil or Very Mad so ended up trading it, but after Red Dead I thought id give it another go as the price was right, a bargain as it had the dlc too.Smile

Plays faultlessly with everything except draw distance turned up, apparently the PC’s of the day could only run it on medium settings as it was built with future hardware in mind.
Fen if you still have it I’d recommend installing it on your new machine your eyes will thank you.

Oh and I’m afraid Minecraft has taken a back seat at the moment, I clocked over 15 hours on gta over the weekend, thats more than I clocked on the 360 in the couple of years I owned the game. Shocked

Note the bullet holes & lack of tiers Very Happy I had to assassinate the driver and thought I'd keep it for my self, Was going to take Michelle out to see if she'd freak out but unfortunately I logged off and the car repaired it self when I logged back on Rolling Eyes failed the first time and gave chase but this time I sprayed the vehicle as he pulled off and got a lucky head shot with the body slumping forward and sounding the horn.Twisted Evil

Mount & Blade's on offer right now, don't know how long it will last. You can get 10% off the new game (Or expansion I'm not sure what it is, only just heard of it) which is coming out in 4 days or so, it's £8.99 instead of £9.99. Or you can get the completely collection of Mount & Blade games/expansion's which includes the unreleased game for 60% off, it's £13.99 for all of it. I played the demo of Mount & Blade and it was very good, chances are I will buy the complete set. I had a lot of fun playing the demo, I didn't buy it before because it was cheaper on Amazon but I didn't want the box, and then I got distracted with other games etc.

Bought Mount and Blade I highly suggest downloading the demo it is sooo much fun. There's a tonne of stuff you can do in the game and the demo itself is pretty big, it give's you nearly the whole game but there's a limit on how many people you can recuit to help you and as such you can't do some of the more impressive stuff like taking on the rulers of the kingdom's and when you reach a certain level the demo ends and you either need to restart or buy the game, you can't play as that character any more, but there are a good few hours there even if you are only playing the demo.
