Duke Nukem Forever!

Nukem's back! Not really news it's been known for a while. I hope this doesn't suck, I'm an old school FPSer and I'd like this to bring an old school revolution, bit sick of Call of Duty clones and things trying to be realistic. Maybe we'll see a new Quake and Unreal, or even a Serious Sam.

I think I had Duke Nukem 64 and that sucked, I used to go over to my friends house and play the good Nukem on PC (An early example of kids getting games they aren't old enough for). I want this game to have a level maker, and not be censored! The trailer is but if the game is then it will ruin what Nukems all about.



I may get it for PC unless my friend wants to get it as well in which case it maybe PS3. I want a good shooter on PC, might get Bad Company, if I don't get this on PC.

Oh balls... I just watched a playthrough/commentary of the demo and this game isn't Duke Nukem. I was hoping this game was a return of old school shooters, blow everything to hell over the top action fun. But no, it's Halo in a Duke Nukem mask. You can only carry 2 weapons, 2 weapons! Are you kidding me! Who asked for that in a Duke game? Nobody, because thats who wanted it. I'm tired of these similar types of shooters, I wanted to have something different. I've only played the Duke game that was on the N64 which I've heard isn't good so I don't know about all the little quirks of Duke, but the guy in the video was saying that Duke would use his boot in melee not hit people with the butt of his gun.

The guy in the video blamed console gamers for these changes, I'm a console gamer always have been and I have no interest in these changes to the degree that I doubt I'll buy it now. Ok I grant you that there are a lot of dumb people, who are what he is really referring to but those are mostly kids I would imagine who are only console gamers because they can't afford PC's which are powerful enough for gaming. I don't like being lumped into that group and being used as an insult as to why games are dumbed down (Yeah, yeah I know Duke isn't exactly a game for intellectuals, but I meant that they dumbed it down from what it should have been because of fear, or stupidity).


At the moment I have lost all interest in this game, however I will watch some reviews when the game is released and check to see if they fix the gun problem etc. Or if someone makes mods to give this game back it's balls. I'm not happy, not happy at all. Still there's a new Serious Sam game coming out at least that game shouldn't have been screwed up. Serious Sam needs to slap Duke and teach him how to be a man again. (I've only played a demo of Serious Sam).

Yeah the full game looks boring, there are a few nice little bits but it's not a real Duke Nukem game. Real waste of something that could have been great. I think they only way I'm buying this game is if it's £3 something on Steam and even then I would have to really think about it, actually I don't even think I would buy it then. Because even though it's cheap, I'd still have to play it.
