Just a few of my latest screenies from my new install of Oblivion.I was hoping for a kind of photo realistic effect and I think I managed to achieve it in a few of them, theres a serious amount of time involved getting it to look like that.

I'm getting close to where you were with the above screens, couple of questions, are you using a texture for trees? what sky texture pack are you using? I've got a mod to make the sun light do those beams but its not as good as yours, what is it? and finally are you using “Almost Everything Visible When Distant” I didn’t put it in as I thought the images looked a bit odd?

Ok so that’s 4 I cant count. Razz

Cheers Stony, I must be heading in the right direction as I've already got Improved Sky Textures & the Godray shader in place and I’ve Beaming Sunglare in my folder of mods still to be added.

I'll check those others out. Thanks for the links.

Any thoughts on the various Unique Landscapes adons? I like the idea of making the place unfamiliar again but I've not seen any documents about compatibility with texture packs.

Also whats the best way to take a copy of my load order like you did in the other thread? and I've not figured screen shots out yet I can do it the steam way but they appear low res.

The UL series poses no issues with texture packs however they do cause major conflicts with any mods that use any cells they alter, there are compatability patches for a lot of the major mods though.

The best way to list your load order is to use Wyre Bash, on the mods tab right click on the files header and select "list mods", a new window will come up with your load order ( it even puts in the spoiler tags ), just copy and paste.

I use FRAPS to take my screenies but if you want to use the Oblivion method open Bash again ( see what a great tool this is Smile) and open the ini tab, find the entry that says Screenshots disabled and unselect it then select Screenshots enabled, Bash will make the ini edit when you exit.To take screenshots ingame just press the print screen button, the images get saved in your Oblivion folder.

P.S. you cant use beaming sunglare with OBGE and Godrays

Very nice, I like the armour detail and the shading.

My mains a bloke so nothing to show off, I didn’t want to experience the Vilja mod as girl on girl, I had enough of that with the green Tart in PSO. Shocked

I’ve got to say the whole level of customisation not just to detail but to game play as well has gone way beyond my expectations, it’s going to be interesting to see how Skyrim will compare to a good Oblivion set up.

Todd Howard has stated "at least one Oblivion user made mod has been integrated into Skyrim", high praise indeed. Bethesda have also said they are astounded at what the modding community has done to Oblivion and Morrowind. The author of OOO now works for them Smile

A lot of games that have had a lot of mod support have stopped supporting mods, it would be funny to see Dark explode if Skyrim announced no mod support.

Soon Dark the day will come when they will rip the heart out of the modding community, like the did with the Total War series and some other game series that I've forgotten.

Bethesda are suing Mojang over them using the name Scroll's for their new project. I could understand if it was something like scroll's of the Elder or something else close to their name, I hope this is just a mistake on Bethesda's part or my opinion of them will go down the loo some what.

I would still hold that while it may not actually be Bethesda thats doing the actual suing, it's still their game thats the cause of the suing and while there maybe a small divide between the two companies, they really act as the same company. I mean if it was actually Bethesda that was doing the suing you could say that it's not the company thats suing it's just the president of Bethesda thats suing. If they own Bethesda and are acting for it then Bethesda's hands aren't clean in the situation. If Bethesda take action against the suing, and say something like "We don't want anything to do with this, but it's out of our hands and we hope that this nonsense gets sorted out soon" then I would gain more respect for them. I doubt that will happen and I doubt anything will come of this lawsuit because it's so stupid, Scrolls is just a normal word, it's not a word Bethesda have made up, I could understand if that was the case, and the game is nothing like Elder Scrolls.

Regardless, Bethesda are going to get all the bad press over this, as the evil big company picking on the plucky small indie company.
