what's the point of this Steam thingy? like, i heard it was the work of satan?

now i realise how noisy my old PC was, this one is ninja like in comparison.

windows 8 is driving me bananas. the choose your colour thing at the start is a nice gimmick, shall i go for slightly blind your eyes orange or neon green eye surgery, i settled for a calming blue .

first impression seems a bit intrusive in the do you want the world to know the colour of your underwear and location to the nearest mm, isn't that what friendface is for?

because of my sons laptop i have exp of windows 7 which is nice and user friendly whereas windows 8 seems to be user overload and confusing. bear in mind my last PC's OS was XP which i was well used to had tweaked over the years rip ol fwend, so it's a bit of a culture shock.

I've muddled by so far got stuck in the browser for a bit wondering how the hell to get out of it and eventually worked out to press the windows button to switch between that app start screen and the desktop, i've been using the desktop coz i havnt a clue about all these changes App? i'm used to a computer from the ark with a thing we called software, my brain is struggling with the concept of App this and App that. gimme another ten minutes i've worked out how to shutdown

Steam is the devil, but you can also get cheap games on it, like for £3.75 in sales. Plus you kind of need it these days nearly all new games require it.

i can't plug my old drive into my new board so i've had to start from scratch installing all sorts of stuff i had. i'll get around to checking it oot later.

on of the fisrt things i did was to get firefox coz IE gives me browser rage

next priority get rid of that big fup off daisy wallpaper i keep forgetting to do that lol

classic shell gives you the start button and menus back and the start screen customizer enables
you to use your own wallpaper and customise the buttons instead of the `what were they smoking`
selection that microsoft gives you.

I went the other way - Win7 looking like Win8
