The Crysis 2 demo is on Steam now, don't know if it's Steam only, hope not. Played it a bit, graphically every thing is soooooo nice, I was concerned about how it would look but it's really really really really really *Hits self* nice. Does feel a bit like CoD since they took a lot of their ideas from that and put it into the Crysis universe but thats not a bad thing, CoD is a brilliant online game. The demo is multiplayer only and I think only has two maps, I only saw 2 anyway, with a few different game types. I only played the team games. The maps are a decent size and full of interesting geography, the maps could be said to be over crowded with stuff it can be hard to see people with everything thats going on, not that that stopped other people seeing me... I got mushed. A common thing that happened to me was I whiched to stealth and as soon as I did got a bullet in the head.

My biggest problem now is do I get this for the PC and have amazing graphics or play on the PS3 and convince my friend to get it. I think the console demo will be out on thursday on PS3 anyway.

I played a malty player 1 level demo on 360 that came out about a month ago but has been replaced with this new one, Started downloading it to the 360, but this hapened Sleep so not played it yet or even know if it finished downloading Shocked I thought the first demo was alright but now I know more about the special suite abilities thanks to the first Cryses, I'll enjoy this more.

I read an interview about the making of this, it was designed with console as a priority over pc so console should be the way to go for this one. Not planning on getting it though, I ‘m enjoying the first one to much, though I’ve hit a common bug (according to forums) that stops you from progressing and means I’ve got to restart the level, there’s no more patches coming it’s been out about 4 years and it’s never been fixed. Just placed an order for Crysis Maximum Edition. I doubt I'll get Crysis 2 right away, I've got CoD BO which has basically the same multiplayer as Crysis 2 but with perks instead of nano suits, but when it's price goes down I'll pick it up. Bought way too many games recently, I need to stop.

Having said that there are a few games I wanted to trade in, maybe I could trade them for it.

The Crysis 2 demo hasn't shown up on the PSN Store yet, which sucks I wanted to compair the PC and Console version.

My Crysis game turned up today anyway, didn't expect it to, it only said it was sent last night. I guess the guy sent it and didn't update for a while.

Fen, just to warn you that for all its beauty Crysis is full of floors, the character modelling is appalling compared to today’s standard, but the way you can play the missions the way you want is it’s appeal for me.

I’d be interested to see what setting you end up running, I’m on 1920x1080 with a mix of high and very high, and no AA, fps is around 40, this puts the most stress on my gpu out of the few games I have, according to speedfan my gpu sits at about 70c other games are 60c (45c idle) only noticed this because my exhaust fan packed up (it was from my old case) so had to keep an eye on temps, but oddly enough even with a new fan and it’s a good one it still hits 70c before stabelising.

I just tried to play and had a bit of a bad experience, my screen was ripping all over the place and there is no Vsync option. I've just quit the game and found out that a patch added the option ingame (You could use the command panel and type in something to activate it without the patch).

I'm at 1920 by 1080 with x8 AA and everything very high, I'll run fraps when I've patched and see how many FPS I get.

Ahh nice all on very high, though not tryed it myself but would expect a big hit on fps.
Out of interest was very high the spec it recommended? As mine only recommended high, I’m expecting you to beat me was just curios how it compaired.

I didn't click on the recommended thing.

The patch let me turn AA up to 16q my FPS is a steady 24 and that doesn't change when things go boom, but thats with Vsync on without it it's about 40 on average, but the tearing is too bad without it. I think it's 24 because when the game starts the tv's little box appears and says 1920 x 1080 24Hz.

A bug I have is that the jeeps the enemy use don't have back wheels.

What lol not seen that one, I’ve noticed if its getting buggy it only gets worse, the best thing is to go back to a previous save point and save often, though I've only had to do this once, oh and one time the game just crashed to desktop, but I just restarted and it was fine with out a reboot.

Right getting totally anal and off topic now, fen I’ve just taken a look at your case, according to the photos on Ovrclockers (spit!) your psu is at the bottom!!, at first I thought wtf, then the next photo showed the bottom of the case with the psu sucking cool air from out side rather than the hot internal air… genius!
Mind you heat rises so not convinced, but it looks like you have the ability to put in enough fans for it to take off and fly around Bristol Laughing

The room my PC's in is pretty damn hot so I don't think it's right for me to say my temps I doubt they will be as low as people not boiling themselves. The cases which have the mother board at 90 degrees are the best for cooling, it all goes out the top but the case that looked like it would fit my needs was about £200, 3x more expensive than the one I have.

I've discovered I suck at Crysis. Couldn't hit the broad side of Armoks butt.

Campaign or online? Guns getter better quite quick in campaign pick a few up and experiment, also don’t forget you can add sights and silencers etc..

EDIT... and use cloak a lot and avoid troops if you have to.

Reading up about the patches that I'm going to install tonight i spotted this:

hey're both official, you will need to download both if you want to play online as the 1.2.1 is just a sever hotfix patch, otherwise you only need the 1.2 patch. the game will say it's updated to 1.1.6.**** once it is updated. after updating you might need to start a new game as tyres tend to go invisible after patching and playing an old savegame.

    Might have been your problem.

Apparently once you patch you have to start a new game as old save files wont work and will give the missing wheel bug...... good for you but bad for me Mad

I've not tried online yet, I'm getting better at shooting now, I have been using cloak although it usually runs out before it's been any help so I don't use it much any more. I think I was better at this game when I played on my laptop and the game barely ran.

Thsnks for the tips and patch info.

I'm using the natural mod an well it's supposed to improve performance and give more natural light etc.

Cloak last pretty much forever as long as you don't charge around like a loon. Nothing quite beats sneaking right into the middle of troops, activating strength and laying some bitch slaps down.

Edited the topics title so we aren't off topic talking about Crysis.

I've restarted but might have been a bit stupid because I'm playing on the hardest difficulty now, I struggled enough on easy... You are forced to take full advantage of your equipment on the hardest setting, I had to try a few times to take out that radar jamming thing, my suit can hardly take any damage now. I'm expecting it to take me about 10 times as long to complete the game like this, I'm going to need to move slow and avoid conflict. I wish the tranquilizers darts had a faster cool down, I can maybe fire 2 before the first guy wakes up, my tactic at the moment is to knock out as many of them as I can and then either move in at melee them to death before they can wake up or if there are other enemies around switch to leathal ammo.

    Oh the bug is fixed.

I remember the game getting hard later on, no idea how I'm going to handle that.

... I was being sneaky and got a bit further by creeping through the undergrowth and was told I should find some grenades and there was an Korean camp just a head so I thought I'd do a bit of killing see if they have any good old fashioned boom balls. Took out the two guys outside the camp no problem, didn't know what hit them. Went to the actual camp was being sneaky but got bored and turned violent, killed the only guy I could see and unleashed hell, 5 or 6 Koreans came running out and I got a bit messy with my killing but yeah killed them fairly easily and thought that was it, but a damn jeep turned up and started unloading in my direction. I got behind cover in a damaged building and used stealth, I went back into the open but he didn't see me and kept firing where I was. I was just about to head shot him when, I fell through the supposed solid earth, I thought I was going to die but I landed in water, so I had to swim out towards the sea so that I could get back onto land from the beach, not where I wanted to go because there are always Koreans there. Yep I was right I got back onto land and there was a Korean, killed him and then another showed up, killed him and tried to get back to the camp and finish what I started but I saw another Korean and thought I should kill him, down to a mixture of bad aim and no skill he killed me. Now I have to do the camp all over again, stupid ground bug.

Jeeps turning up the best thing ever, couple of shots at the fuel tank and boom goes the reinforcements
If you're real good you can get them before they stop and flying jeeps are amazing.

I'm usually not that close to jeeps and on the wrong side.

I was just enjoying slowly creeping earlier, the leafs of the ground the way the planets bend back as you go past. I don't see Crysis 2 being as good as this, not in the single player any way. I think like CoD, Crysis 2 will be bought mostly for the multiplayer.

I decided to give it another go and I went further around the camp using the binoculars to keep track of all the Koreans in the camp and I took them out without them knowing who was doing it, but the jeep did come, this time I was on the side of it that has the gas tank and I blow it, but not while it was moving. Those 7 or 8 men's lives were worth 6 grenades.

I'm about to free the hostage now, gulp this is going to be hard since I can't survive fire fights. I was on the ridge doing the secondary objective, took out the guards again without them knowing who. After I was sitting on the ridge taking count of the Koreans in the hostage base, when a sneaky bunch of Koreans came marching around, I can't remember if I was in stealth or went into it but I dropped to the ground to avoid them seeing me, they came up the hill towards me but not firing they must have know I was there but they would have fired in my direction if they had... So two of them came up and stood on top of me, they were talking but it was in Korean and then they backed away and started shooting at me, but not hitting. I took them down and then set about killing the rest of them, they knew I was there but couldn't see me.

Not really sure how I'm going to handle this base. I'm nearly to were I was before I restarted anyway.

I'm finding the AI in this game a lot of fun, how about you guys?

Oh god damn another bug, I cleared that base of tanks and I got no new objective, I killed everyone to see if that would start it but no, I left the base and moved on towards the next bit but nope still didn't start. I got myself killed and now I have to take those damn tanks out again, not cool...

I got that bug after the tanks, forums say restart level but I went back a few saves and it worked, a real pain on your difficulty though, if you have a save at the hut looking down on the camp start from there.

I've restarted now I've patched, also using the same mod as you and one that makes foliage look better, I was quite suprised how different the first lv looked with the mods, night realy looks like night now, also cranked up the settings thanks to patch.

Thanks for the tip I'm going to try again from the point the tanks come in and see if it will work because I don't want to sneak into the base again if I can help it, but if that fails I'll for sure go back to before the base.

It takes 4 bloody rockets to take down each tanks, but you can only carry 3, the first tank thats fine because you are near rockets. The second one though isn't you either have a long trek back to the place where you not the first rockets or you have to clear buildings full of troups. I tried using grenades when I used up all 3 rockets but they did diddly.

Whats the other mod you are using?
