So far have only done the same 10 minutes I did on xbox, but WOW just WOW! It looks so much nicer, and I’m only running DX9 with the PHSX at medium, just got to remember to back those saves up.

Batman Arkham City
I’ve been avoiding this with all the problems it’s been having with DX11 and corrupting game savs etc,, I did originally have this on the 360 but after 10 minutes was disappointed, it lacked the polish and shine compared to Asylum on the PC, but saw it in the steam sale and gave it to myself as an xmas Prezzie.

Re: Batman Arkham City
I didn't know it had any problems. I was going to buy it but thought that I could wait until it gets a bit cheaper, its worth the cash but I had a lot of expenses coming up what with christmas and all so gave it a miss.

Re: Batman Arkham City
I think maybe they went a little over the top with the movement of somethings, I was walking over a rug and it moved like I was walking through water. I like the combat, it drags on a bit I've only really had 3 fights, sometimes during the fight I wonder if there's something I should be doing to finish it, like a knock out move or cuffing them, I am playing on hard mode so not really a shocker that they take a while to put down. I'm a bit meh with this one at the moment, I'm pretty tired at the moment though, maybe when I've had time to get into it a bit more, and maybe I'm a bit anti it because of all the serial numbers I needed to enter etc.

Re: Batman Arkham City
I’d forgotten how underwhelmed I was at the beginning, I also got frustrated early on because I’d missed the hint about how to do fast Batarang.
It gets better once you level a bit....

Re: Batman Arkham City
I've been doing some of the Riddlers puzzles, things like that are kind of annoying though because you wonder if the reason you can do it or work it out is because you need to unlock a gadget, but you don't want to give up on it incase you can do it and there's just a trick you are missing.
I've been playing a bit more this morning, I'm getting a bit more into the groove now. Oh by the way do you know where you find this Harley Quinn's Revenge DLC? Is it ingame or is it in a menu? I don't see anything about it in my game.

Yep see my post on the steam thread and grit your teeth.
Edit.. this one
Had to jump through hoops for the AC dlc though, steam wouldn't download it, so had to first redeem the code on live and then go to games for windows to download. I've nothing against GFWL but if it's tied to a steam account then surely that’s enough.

I've no idea how to redeem with live and I don't know if I need to, I might already have it and not know.

Re: Batman Arkham City
look for GFWL on your system you must already have it somewhere otherwise you wouldn’t be able to launch the game, there will be a tab to redeem code, put the Harley key in, and can’t remember but you might have to go to downloads or something like that to then download it. it's a long download if you have it already then you would know as it's on a tab where you go to resume game etc..
You can copy & past the key, there is a button that says copy to notebook, that effectively copies it then all you need to do is past where you need it.

Re: Batman Arkham City
In the games for windows live folder the GFWLine.exe file opens Games for Windows Marketplace, I don't see any redeem tab there.

Re: Batman Arkham City
Ok your going to hate this, go to http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/live/ and log in, it will be your email then pass, go to xbox live then redeem code, put the Harley code in it then should say if it’s worked or not.
Then go to GFWL and it should now show up as a download.
See said you would hate it.

Re: Batman Arkham City
Thanks, I managed to find it in game, I had to write the bleeding code down again and enter it but it's downloading now. Let us hope GFWL doesn't get included in more games, I'm glad Dawn of War moved away from it, what a pain in the arse it is, they should never have put it into the PC games that use Steam or at least they should only have put parts of it in like being able to chat to people in other games, Steam has text chat anyway, I don't know if it has voice chat.

GFWL doesn’t even let you do that, not like you can on xbox where you can be in party chat and talk to each other while playing different games, all you can do is text like steam but you can text across platform so I can text xbox friends while on pc.
I'm not knocking Xbox Live though it's very good as long as it stays on Xbox.

Re: Batman Arkham City
You'd think with Microsoft being a PC company first all they would be able to make a better system for doing things on PC. If Microsoft want to use their own security system they shouldn't use Steam.
Anyway thanks for the help it's shown up on the menu now, I thought that maybe I had to wait till I had completed the main story before it would become available, or that maybe it was just a side mission in the main story.

Re: Batman Arkham City
I quite like playing as Catwoman, her moves are more flowing and natural some of Batmans look just plain weird. I'm not sure why but the combat in this game reminds me of a Matrix game that came out ages ago. Not sure what it is about it, I barely remember the game all I remember is that it was over priced, and bad for the most part bits of the combat were good I think, I'm pretty sure I took it back for a refund.

I cant deny I have a bit of a Catwoman fetish, I think it’s probably something to do with Michelle Pfeiffer the whip and the safety pins.

Re: Batman Arkham City
I'm afraid I have no such fetish, I've seen too many women at Halloween "dressing" in well... parts of a Catwoman outfit. I like the Catwoman character, and granted they are just dressing like cats I doubt they are actually trying to look like Catwoman but still it lacks inventiveness and is boring. I tell you if I'm not working on Halloween this year I'm going to go to as many parties in a bra and pants with cat ears on and try to put them off ever wearing that stuff again, maybe even get cat costumes banned, I might even put lipstick on in the style of Heath Ledgers Joker and try to kill two birds with one stone.

Re: Batman Arkham City
I've gotten pretty into the game now, I get my arse kicked quite a lot though, guns are a bloody pain! Getting seen by a guy with a gun is pretty much insta-death. Not complaining I like Batman not being super human. Still not keen on his combo's they are just all over the place for a game with such polish they could have spent a bit of time making his movements within the realms of whats possible, sometimes he'll be flipping in one direction, the next he'll be flipping 10 feet in the other without even touching the floor. I've not noticed anything wrong with Catwomans combo's though so Batman could learn something from her.

Re: Batman Arkham City
Begger me it's hard to take out a load of guys when there is one of those one arm guys and a titan involved. Knives are the biggest hassle, I really should learn how you are supposed to deal with them I suppose... The last fight was hard as nails, I won't ruin it for people by saying which fight but I'm playing as Catwoman again now, hopefully that will give you an idea.
I'm nearish the end of the game now, I think on the whole I like the city more than the asylum which is a shame because there are loads of games set in cities, very few set in asylums and it was amazing how they fit so much stuff into such a small space. Then again it's also pretty amazing that they filled such a large place with such a dense amount of stuff, most of the city is packed with things to take an interest in, the only thing is I don't really look at the city and take in the sights I mostly just swing through and look for stuff seems like a bit of a waste.

Re: Batman Arkham City
Finished the game now and the Harley Quinn's Revenge DLC, both very good. Mr. Freeze was my favourite boss they were all pretty good though, Joker is always a bit of a let down in the last game he was just a different skinned Bane, and Bane is one of my least favourite characters. But thats Joker really, he's not really a fighter in himself he's all about the plan's.
The DLC is pretty short, which is to be expected since it says over 2 hours of content but it's very good. Have you completed it yet Vis?

Not yet I keep doing bits inbetween other games, trouble is I played a bit last night I knew my last save was on a side mission but I'd totally forgot what I was supposed to be doing.

Re: Batman Arkham City
Finished it at last! I just need to finish the dlc and wrap up some of the side quests that interested me .
Glad to see there is a proper New Game + that allows you to start from the beginning with all gadgets unlocked and ramped up difficulty.
Brilliant game.

Re: Batman Arkham City
I was the same Bri it took me a while to get into it, there is a map via the back button (360 controller) the way point of the main mission shows as green on the map & compass and side missions show as blue.
