    Torchlight Empty Torchlight

I hadn't really heard of this game until recently, whenever I hear the name I think of Doctor Who... It's a Diablo style game but with a more cartoony look I guess made by Perfect World (Not a free to play game). I was convinced into getting it, well I was shown it and then the nerdy desire to level up and find loot took hold. Torchlight 2 is what I was convinced to get it's an online co-op game the first Torchlight is single player only, I wasn't too sure about pre-ordering Torchlight 2 on Steam, it has no release date yet though it's pretty much done I believe. Why I bought it against my less trusting judgement is that when you pre-order Torchlight 2 you get Torchlight free, Torchlight 2 is £14.99 and Torchlight is £12.99 so it was only risking the £2.

Hopefully the game does actually get released.

Torchlight is a pretty decent game, I've not got bored of it yet and I've been playing quite a lot the last few days, it doesn't have a hugely deep storyline, the combat is ok, it's point and click at it's most basic really, there are skill tree's and all that. I'm playing on Very Hard and to be honest I'm finding it pretty easy, I do die but it's usually because I've forgotten to look at my health, it has Hardcore mode which just locks you out of your char I believe. It was a bit hard to start with but as soon as you start finding decent gear you'll pretty much be one shot killing everything and you are rarely short of HP and MP potions, infact usually they will fill up your inventory.

I recommend Torchlight and I think Torchlight 2 should be pretty damned good.

There was a big fuss about this when it came out on xbox arcade last year, I do have it but I’ve not got into it yet, my son plays it quite a lot whenever I switch his wifi off and stop him trash talking on halo.

    Like Father like Son...

I wouldn't say it's big fuss worthy really, it's pretty addictive though and the quests are pretty limited, in that so far there are only 3, the main quest, the kill a boss monster on such and such level and find this amber but you never get overwhelmed with quests like other games of this nature.

Torchlight 2 is out today, it has online play which should be pretty sweet. It seems to have expanded out quite a lot from what the first game was.
