Jace Hall

Been watching some of his videos on Youtube which are quite funny, and every now and then he does a little gaming based music video. Thing is they are always about gamers wanting to escape the real world. i.e. he go bullied but in the game he's killing butt, or his I'm playing WoW video where it seems all his reasons for playing are to escape bad things in the real world.

It's funny and entertaining I guess but it's a bit stereotyped, personally I just play games because I enjoy playing the game, like playing golf or getting my head kicked in, I don't try and escape reality. I actually find these videos a little offence as a gamer. I suppose though maybe it's just his reasons for playing games.

I posted something like this topic on one of the videos and got a response like, "it's a deep meaning, not to care about that crap" meaning the stuff happening in your life. I don't think it is, I'll just copy and paste what my response was:

"I don't see the message as that, I see "Don't try and change the things in your life that you don't like, go and hide in your game where you can't help but be an artifical, fake hero". Not letting people get you down is a good message but running a way from it isn't."
