    Crazy Taxi Empty Crazy Taxi

    Post by DS9 Tue Jan 04, 2011 5:54 pm

just noticed Crazy taxi is on xbox live arcade! Smile

800 points for the full game,

..but be warned it's not true to the dreamcast version, for one the excellent music has been replaced by some inferior krap and the places like kfc have had their name changed! for example tower records has been renamed the record store! it just doesn't feel s good as the dreamcast..cue sad smiley face Sad

I tried the demo and thought it was awful. It's those rose tinted spectacles again.

I was saving points to buy it but once it arrived I sensibly tried the demo first, I'm glad I did, Bri's right about those glasses.

I think maybe the glasses are fine, the 360 just doesn't have that old DC magic that makes those games special (Also XBOX'S are EVIL!), I was thinking about getting it on the PSP but I spent too much and had to reel myself in.

actually Fenon is right, i've still got my Dreamcast setup and i don't think it's rose spectacles at all, the gameplay on the Dreamcast just works a lot better for some reason, is much more enjoyable, i'm at a loss to explain it but it just doesn't run the same on x-box, whatever they tinkered with has ruined it. it's still fun but just not in the brilliant way it is. another thing is the xbox 360 controller, i'm just more used to the Dreamcast one for pulling off the moves, i'm actually finding the xbox version harder intially because of this.

True there was nothing wrong with original, So you’ve got me thinking about what other DC ports their have been, My lad loves the Sonic Adventure port but his never played the original, also was Outrun on the DC? that plays ok, he also has the Saturn Virtual-On port and that seams to be as I remember it.

Btw good to see you have a gold account Mr 9er, we should try to get some Snoop doggy dog fighting in Smile

Outrun was in Shenmue2 along with Space Harrier and Afterburner. Very Happy
Which reminds me I still hav`nt finished Shenmue1 Embarassed
Jet Set Radio was another game I thought was better on the DC than the Xbox remake.

    !!!

I'll pretend I didn't hear that, the shame of it. Next you'll be saying you didn't play Grandia II and "Whats Skies of Arcadia?". Isn't there a rule in the forum's ToS that says every member that had a Dreamcast must have completed Shenmue 1 & 2 and have a deep dark hole in their soul longing for the release of the rest of the Shenmue series. I might have "What happened to Shenmue 3?!?!?" on my grave stone, or:

    Fenon 1984 - 2089

    "Shenmue 3 released 2090"

Edit: I did put 2012 as a little side joke about some people thinking the world will end in 2012, but I didn't want to tempt fate.

i dunno vis i went on snoopy a few times but get shot down right away or zapped with electricty?! would like a age of booty as its hard to find players to have games with for that.

i did complete shenmue on dreamcast. i would buy it if it came out on live.
Soul Calibur is also on arcade.

I will forever love Shenmue for it making me a couple of hundred quid selling the sequel to daft Americans Smile
Shenmue 3 is never going to happen, and I doubt I would buy either of them again for live. I'd be perfectly happy to see it done as a comic book at this point tbh. It's more about finishing the story, rather than playing a Shenmue game again for me.
