Oh Lord, The Macho Man Randy Savage has died!

He was in a car which his brother was driving when his brother had a heart attack and crashed the car into a tree.

I was and still am a big fan of The Macho Man, he was the reason I started watching wrestling and I began lossing interest when he left. Infact I view the point when he was taken out of WcW for a while (There was a cage match and his leg was supposed to have been broken by a chair attack, I'm guessing his contract was up or he just had to have some kind of opperation, opperation is most likely) as the point when WcW started down it's path to it's ultimate end. I've seen so many wrestling move's, fancy over the top and super dangerous ones but Macho Man's Big Elbow, well there was something magical about it he looked like he was hanging in the air, like time and gravity had stopped working for a short time before he hit his target perfectly. To say I think his Big Elbow is the best wrestling move that there has ever been in an understatement, I've seen other people try to copy it but none of them perform the move as perfectly as him, they don't capture that magic, for them it's a move like any other.

Doesn't really show the true beauty of the move, but I can't find a good video of just the Big Elbow on youtube, I think he refined it more when he was in the nWo on WcW. At least this video had Macho Man doing the Big Elbow on Hogan.

Macho Man was crazy and he's said some of the weirdest stuff I've ever heard, and when he spoke he flexed every muscle in his neck, even a vain bulged on the side of his eye, that ran down his face. I don't think the term there will never be another one like him has ever been more true.

I usually don't care much if at all when I hear that someone famous has died, but with Macho Man it's like a member of the family.

    R.I.P Randall Mario Poffo.

Behind the Madness. I love this interview, hearing the meaning behind the famous OOOOOOHHHHH YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!! And the reason he points to the sky before he jumps off the top rope.

I haven't watched the whole thing yet, I'm going to watch all of it tomorrow.

This is the first match that I saw the Macho Man in, it was either the first or second time I had watched wrestling. I was a fan of his from the first time I saw him. I haven't seen this match since I saw it on 15/12/1997 in retrospect Macho Man looked to be calling in the match, he didn't have his usual energy.

I was anti-wrestling before I was WcW Monday Nitro for the first time and would be one of those people that says wrestling is fake, I now say it's acted and point out how stupid it is to call wrestling fake when you watch fictional tv shows or movies, you don't say thats fake when a guy gets shot in the face in one of those, so why should you call wrestling fake. I watched Cartoon Network at the time and there was always a show called Nitro on TNT just after CN stopped at night, I never watched it but it looked exciting, also no pictures of wrestling or anything was said about it being wrestling, I thought it was some kind of action tv show, with car chases etc. One night my parents were out and I was really bored, nothing else was on so I thought I'd watch Nitro and finally see what it was. I'm pretty sure I loved it from the start, I wanted to know what the nWo was and of course I wanted to see more of Macho Man.

It turns out that I did watch wrestling before that, I watched it sometimes I think it was on Saturday mornings on ITV when WcW was shown on there. I was a fan of Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. But I was really young and I didn't know when the show was on so it was only by chance that I ever watched it, I'm surprised actually that I knew who Ricky was or remembered him, years later. I must have been 4-5 when I watched it on ITV maybe younger.

My tribute to the Macho Man, it was grappling tonight at Kung Fu. So as a tribute to Macho Man I promised that I would not give up, no matter what happened.

I was put up against the 21 stone weightlifter. After a bit of faffing around we finally hooked up, I was in real danger as he has a massive weight, strength and a slight height advantage, I have a bit more endurance but that doesn't count for much if I'm working against his weight. I managed to get him in a headlock under the chin which is very hard to get out of but he started punching me in the sides, which weren't that painful but after a while they began to wear on me. So I started using my chin on his shoulder to annoy him and take his attention from hitting me. I cranked his neck and pushed him against the wall to bend it at a more dramatic angle and soon he was making odd noises, I think I loosened my grip a bit when I hear them not on purpose and eventually he broke out, but the fight kind of just stopped. I think he was very tired and wanted to stop and I didn't continue but should have. I forgot to say that when he was punching me he was also grabbing at my clothes a lot and I was abit concerned they would be ripped off.

Next round I got put with him again and after a bit more faffing around we locked up and he wasn't about to let me get his head again, we got into low stances and tried to push each other bad, I held my ground and didn't move despited all the disadvantages I had, he decided to be smart and step to the side so that I would go flying forwards thanks to the force I was using against him, but I was one step ahead and wasn't actually putting in any forward force, I was just holding my ground. I'm afraid I don't remember much of it but I think he was trying to get me in a headlock so I went to try and pull his leg out from under him, a very hard thing to do with all that weight over it, pushing it down into the ground. But after a lot of load roaring from me I lifted him up into a side slam, I was a little shocked at having lifted him which gave him the time to get me in a, well not very good headlock, he just had his head round the top of my head, which hurt my neck a bit but otherwise I was fine. He asked me a few times if I gave up and I said no. I was cramped up against the wall which was bending my spine a lot. I just started fighting back when he released me and got up. I just lay on the floor, I did try to get up a few times, but my neck felt a bit weak, a few people asked if I was ok because I was holding my neck a lot, it's wasn't that bad just a bit sore, and I got a few slaps on the belly. I think I got some respect from that big guy for man handling him, because I'm not that strong. I didn't want the fight to end I felt I could continue.

Here's what a side slam looks like, ummm I didn't hold him for long it was just a lift and drop. Oh ignore the idiot commentator it's not a side suplex, thats a completely different move.

After a break, when I finally got back up I was put against him again, but this was a much shorter fight I was spent, he was as well I would imagine, but I think people were concerned about my neck because my teacher told him to becareful not to break my neck, my head was on the ground and he was over me and yeah my head was being twisted at odd angles, but it wasn't that bad. The fight just stopped, which annoyed me because I hadn't even begun to fight. I should have provoked him to continue the fight and I regret that.

Later I was out of it for a bit, everything was too bright and I was seeing coloured stars. I'm told it's due to a lack of oxygen from lifting heavy things.

I don't like the way the fights ended but I lived up to the tribute, and I would like to think Macho Man knew about what I was doing for him and helped me lift that monster.
